About Steve

Apr 18, 2013
by Steve Chen

Steve Chen has co-founded and invested in a number of internet startups and brick & mortar businesses here in the Bay Area since graduating from UC Berkeley. He is the father of two who loves creating fun, memorable events & experiences for others to enjoy.

When he’s not eating at his steakhouse 5A5, he’s either planning fun galas and events through his event planning company AList, working on his new online/offline dating startup ScreenDate, or hanging out with his family and friends. Steve’s family has been affected by cancer on a couple of occasions, and he hopes that his efforts with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society can help pave the way for a better life for his kid’s generation and on.

Welcome my MWOY Fundraising Page

Apr 26, 2013

Generally like to avoid 'titles', so I was initially very hesitant to participate in this campaign. But after learning about how many young, promising lives are affected by these terrible diseases, we were convinced to just do all that we can for this effort!

We have an outstanding team filled with other really amazing young professionals. We plan to primarily raise funds and awareness for the LLS by creating fun events for our friends and supporters to attend, so we hope that you'll join us for one or more! Even if you aren't able to make it, any donation here in this page would be greatly appreciated.

Please view our HackCancer page for the list of upcoming events! facebook.com/HackCancer

Although many of us are in the startup/investment space (hence the HackCancer name :), our events do cater to all!

More info about the LLS and this campaign.

Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Every dollar I raise counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most votes /raises the most money is named the Man or Woman of the Year.

Thanks to your support, my efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.

LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.

And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs like Gleevec, Sprycel, Arinza, Tasigna and Zolinza are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my Web site often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org

We are sorry donations are no longer being accepted for this participant for this event.
