Welcome to Frank Murphy's MWOY Fundraising Page!

Help Frank Murphy fund the fight against cancer

May 18, 2017

Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign for Man or Woman of the Year before May 18. I am part of a team working to raise as much as possible in a 10-week period.

Every dollar I raise counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most votes by raising the most money is named the Man or Woman of the Year. The campaign ends on May 18. Does your employer offer matching grants? That’s an easy way to make your donation do even more to fund the fight against blood cancer.

My friends Meghan Forbes, Melissa Nance, and Rachel Dellinger are battling leukemia or lymphoma or both. They have benefited from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s programs. I am dedicating my fundraising campaign to the memory of my wife’s uncle, Rev. George Z. Griesedieck, who died of lymphoma when he was only 57.

Fr. George married my wife and me and he baptized our first child. Since his death in 1988, the Leukemia  Lymphoma Society has funded research that could save the life of someone who developed the same disease today.

My friends who have leukemia have benefited from the copay assistance program funded by LLS. The progress LLS has made in fighting blood cancers has applications in fighting other types of cancer as well. As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses, and thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund the therapies and treatments that save lives, not someday but today.

Please bid on the eight silent auction items that my team and I have assembled.

Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers. Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. They will not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well. Please visit my Web site often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org
