Help Me Beat Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Feb 18, 2019

An annual event in Little Rock called “Light the Night” helps to raise money for the Arkansas Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The event closes with an after dark walk of Colored Lanterns each with their own meaning - white lanterns are carried by survivors; red lanterns by
supporters; gold lanterns are carried by those walking in memory of loved ones lost to cancer.

I have participated in this event the last few years - and to be honest, never in a million years thought one of those colors would actually pertain to myself. I was wrong.

On December 4th of last year - I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I have completed three rounds of chemotherapy with the drug Rituxan - a drug that is 100% the result of research & development funding by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This organization is taking part in saving my life and millions of others thru treatment research.

Along with my diagnosis - I have been given the opportunity to give back to this wonderful organization.

I would not have the positive prognosis that I do without medical advances made possible by research funded by organizations like LLS. While survival rates for individuals diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s Disease, and myeloma have improved, it isn’t good enough. In my lifetime, I want to see a cure. This campaign is my opportunity to contribute to this vision, and I hope you will join me.

Every dollar I raise is a vote for me and a vote to cure cancer. I have 10 weeks from February 19 to May 3 to reach my goal! There are many ways to support my campaign:
    1. Make a tax-deductible contribution – Donations may be made by clicking DONATE NOW on your right.
    2. Sponsor or attend the LLS Grand Finale on May 3, 2019 – Companies or individuals may sponsor, buy tables or purchase tickets. It will be a fun evening and I would be honored if you would attend. Click PURCHASE EVENT TICKETS on your right.
    3. Spread the word – I would greatly appreciate your assistance to reach out to your friends, family and colleagues to share the mission of LLS, endorse my campaign and ask for their support. It is through extended networks that we will be most successful and that the ultimate goal of increasing awareness for LLS will be achieved.

I am fortunate to be beating Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Together, we can give others the same chance. This is going to be an exciting campaign. I appreciate your consideration and support.

Welcome to Scott Romine's MWOY Fundraising Page!

Feb 07, 2019

Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign for Man & Woman of the Year.

I have joined a team that is driven to find cures for blood cancer. Our team is working to raise as much as possible over the next 10 weeks. Every dollar we raise counts as one vote for my team's candidate. The candidate whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of "Man or Woman of the Year".

As you know, though, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.

Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org

The Man & Woman of the Year campaign has concluded and the winners have been announced. However, we deeply appreciate your ongoing donation and support of LLS’s mission. To make an incredible impact not someday, but today click on the donate button.
