What’s your tie to cancer?

According to the America Cancer Society, more than 1.7 million new cases are expected in 2019 and one person in the US is diagnosed with a blood cancer approximately every three minutes. Based on those stats, I bet you have a personal connection of your own.

My Why

In November of 2018, I was nominated as a Man of the Year candidate to lead a team of dedicated individuals, to raise funds to find a cure for blood cancer. When I met with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society team to learn about this amazing opportunity, one thing instantly stood out to me. "Everybody has a tie to cancer in some way shape or form." I don't have any family members or close friends who have been diagnosed with a blood cancer, like Leukemia or Lymphoma, but many close family members including my Grandma, were all at one point diagnosed with some type of cancer.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is one of the leaders in advancing breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine. These new treatments originally discovered through blood cancer research are now being tested in clinical trials for other cancers. I believe if we continue to make great strides in finding a cure for blood cancer, that this will only lead to finding cures for breast cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer,  prostate cancer, brain cancer and many more.

Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising page.

Join our team, “What’s Your Tie”, as we work to raise as much money as possible over the next 10 weeks. Each dollar counts as one vote for our team. The candidate whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of "Man or Woman of the Year".

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. They will not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services, as well.

Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate. Beating blood cancer is in my blood!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org.

For cures,
